Jul 01, 2015  I have MS Office Pro 2013, MS Visio 2013, and MS Project 2013. I have found my key code for everything except MS Project 2013. I have the Belarc Advisor print out from this computer. It is showing a software license number for MS Project 2013 which is 20 characters (18 numbers and 2 letters) as well as the (Key: ends with XXXXX).

If you bought multiple copies of Office and used the same Install button to install Office on multiple PCs, activation fails on the other PCs. This happens because each Install button is associated with a unique product key that can only be installed on one PC. To fix this, you can change the product key for the other PCs where you installed Office.

  1. On the device where you want to change the key, open any Office app, select the File menu and then select Account near the bottom of the menu.

  2. Under Product Information, select the Change License button.

    If there is no Change License button, you may need to install Office updates.

  6. Now start an Office app, such as Word, and select Next to activate Office over the Internet.

Follow the given below instructions to change or update Office 2013/2016 product key in Windows.

METHOD 1 of 2

Step 1: Open Programs and Features. To do so, type Programs and Features in Start menu search box or Start screen, and then press Enter key.

Or

Open Run command box with the help of Windows+R hotkey, type Appwiz.cpl in the box, and then press Enter key.

Step 2: Look for Microsoft Office 2013 entry, right-click on the same, and then click Change option.

Step 3: Here, select Enter a Product key option, and click Continue button.

Step 4: Finally, enter your new 25 character product key in the box and then click Continue button to change your Office 2013 product key.

Note that this will show you the installation screen. You can simply click Continue or click Customize button to add/remove an Office application.

Change Office 2013/2016 from Command Prompt

Step 1: First step is to open elevated Command Prompt. To do so, you can simply type CMD in the Start screen or Start menu search box and then press Ctrl+Shift+Enter key.

Alternatively, you can navigate to Command Prompt entry in the Start menu or Start screen, right-click on Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator option.

Note that running the Command Prompt as administrator is necessary in order to change the product key of Office.

Step 2: In the Command Prompt, please execute the following command:

If you’re running 64-bit Office on 64-bit Windows, use the following command:

cscript “C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice15OSPP.VBS”/inpkey:XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

If you’re running 32-bit version Office 2013 on 32-bit Windows, please use the following command:

cscript “C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice15OSPP.VBS” /inpkey:XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

If you’re running 32-bit version of Office 2013 on 64-bit Windows, please use the following command instead:

cscript “C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft OfficeOffice15OSPP.VBS” /inpkey:XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

In the above command, replace XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX with the new key that you would like to use.

Once the key is successfully updated, you’ll see “Product key installation successful” message. That’s it!
